AI Training with Continental Breakfast

Thursday, May 22, 2025 (9:00 AM - 10:00 AM) (CDT)

Description

Join us for a continental breakfast and learn about AI!

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a rapidly evolving field encompassing systems or machines designed to simulate human intelligence, perform tasks, and improve over time.

This introduction to AI covers its fundamental concepts, workings, and applications in various sectors.  AI uses data, algorithms, and models to make predictions and decisions.

The presentation introduces key AI terminology, including Machine Learning (ML), Large Language Models (LLM), and Generative Pre-trained Transformers (GPT). It categorizes AI tools into four main types: AI Presentation Makers, AI Video Tools, AI Search Tools, and General AI Tools, providing examples for each category. The role of AI in robotics is highlighted, emphasizing its applications in manufacturing, logistics, and personal robotics.

The presentation stresses the importance of quality input when interacting with AI tools, suggesting the "Sandwich Method," which involves human input, AI processing, and human verification. Ethical concerns surrounding AI, such as privacy issues and potential job displacement, are addressed. The presentation concludes by emphasizing the need to navigate the risks and rewards of AI carefully, focusing on using AI with integrity to shape its future wisely.

Presentation by Dr. Linda Miller, a seasoned educational professional with Missouri Baptist University.
